COLLEGE GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Students who are in college intermittently may graduate under the catalog requirements of their original enrollment period unless there is a lapse of one calendar year or more. In this case the student will be expected to fulfil the requirements of the catalog in effect at the beginning of the last continuous enrollment period prior to graduation.
A student must earn 129 hours (minimum) of acceptable credits including the required subjects as listed under the chosen majors and minors. The student is responsible for scheduling his courses according to when the course will be offered.
SCHEDULE CHANGES
No course may be added, changed or dropped without the permission of the instructor of that course.
WITHDRAWAL FROM A COURSE
In order to withdraw from a course, a student must bring his class card to the college office and consult the registrar. As stated above, the student must also obtain permission from the instructor of the course before the student may drop the course.
Withdrawals, properly completed, will be graded with a "WP" or "WF" based on whether the student was passing or failing at the time of withdrawal.
WITHDRAWAL FROM COLLEGE
A person who must unavoidable withdraw from the college must confer with the Dean. Failure to do so will result in DISCIPLINARY SUSPENSION being entered on the student's permanent record.
TRANSFERABILITY OF CREDITS
Transferability of credits earned at Tri-State Baptist College is controlled by the receiving institution as to what credits they will receive.
GRADING SYSTEM
Reports will be issued at the close of each semester. One copy will be given/sent to the student and one copy will be mailed to the parent's of minor students.
Teachers are free to give consideration to the student's attitudes, attendance, recitation, and other factors which is deemed appropriate for college students. The grades are: A-Superior (93-100) B - Above Average (85-92) C - Average or Satisfactory (77-84) D - Below Average or Poor (70-76) F - Failure (Below 70)
I- Incomplete (The deficiency must be removed during the next academic semester, otherwise the grade will be changed to "F".)
GRADE POINTS
For the purpose of computing grade averages, grade points are assigned as follows: to the grade A, 4.0 points; to B, 3.0 points; to C, 2.0 points; to D. 1.0 point; and F, 0 points.
SCHOLASTIC PROBATION AND SUSPENSION
A grade point average of at least 2.0 must be maintained during the course of study in college. Any student having an average below 2.0 for a semester's work will be placed on ACADEMIC PROBATION for the next semester.
A student on probation will be given one semester to make a 2.0 average on all courses pursued during that semester.
A student who is on final probation must attain a 2.0 average or be placed on ACADEMIC SUSPENSION.. After the lapse of one semester a student may re-enter on probation.. If this probation is not removed by attaining a 2.0 average in the next semester, the student will be dismissed from the college.
TRANSCRIPTS
One official transcript will be furnished to any student free of charge. For each additional copy a charge of $3.00 will be made. |
